An ancient mountain stone village located in Oretto, a small hamlet of Campiglia Cervo in the province of Biella: at an altitude of 800 metres, we find ourselves in the heart of the Cervo Valley, a destination steeped in history and nature at the foot of the Biella Alps.
Unique in its kind, this ancient scattered village has been brought back to life by Milanese entrepreneur Barbara Varese who, together with her daughters Eleonora and Giorgia, has promoted the conservative restoration of the historic family home through a major redevelopment of the property and neighbouring buildings.
The Bursch, the house in the ancient Walser dialect, has been transformed into a refined country house, where each room takes its guests on a little journey: dedicated to a different theme, each room is furnished with objects collected from around the world, each with a story to tell. The common areas are filled with old books, records, musical instruments and board games, and there is even a room with a billiard table and an original bar from the 1930s.
Recently, the village of La Bursch has also been enriched with a new structure: the Palazzo dei Venti (Wind Palace) Guest House, which houses three new rooms inspired by the natural elements: Air, Water and Fire.
The entire residence is surrounded by a lush private garden featuring a natural swimming pond, a bocce court, relaxation areas, an agora and a brazier around which guests can gather when night falls.
